The Preheater Kit HERU CV‑ViCi‑QAL is used to preheat the outdoor air upstream of the HERU air handling unit in very cold climates.
The heater is equipped with encapsulated stainless steel smooth tubular heating elements, grade EN 1.4301, and a casing made of magnelis‑coated steel sheet.
The duct heater is fitted with one automatic reset and one manual reset overheat protection device. Manual reset is performed on the heater cover.
The CV ViCi‑QAL features a built‑in relay with potential‑free alarm contact, indicating power failure or tripping of the overheat protection.
The CV is designed for a maximum outlet air temperature of 50°C.
It complies with airtightness class C according to EN 15727 and has an enclosure protection rating of IP44.
The heater is controlled via an external control signal connected to the HERU unit.
An integrated electronic airflow switch continuously monitors the airflow and reduces output if the air velocity drops below 1.5 m/s, and shuts down the heater if the velocity falls below 0.7 m/s. When the air velocity exceeds 0.7 m/s, the heater automatically restarts.
This ensures that the requirement for interlocking against fan operation / airflow is fulfilled.
